The waterlines workshop: WHAT
Object of waterlinesworkshop are the architectural, urbanistic, technological and iconographic testimonies of the ability of a people in not giving up in front of boundary that could constitute a limit, a standstill to their own growth.
The British People and the City of London over the centuries, thanks to their skills, have turned the boundaries of their country, carved in water, in a strength: water, in the form of river or expanse of the sea have become modified lines and interpreted in order to overcome physical and immaterial obstacles at the same time. These changes have allowed to overcome a limit and address the world through movements, actions, businesses, explorations, confrontation and clashes.
The waterlines workshop: HOW
The workshop is divided into an initial phase of study of the signs, within the city of London, of this identity: ports, docks, warehouses, bridges, river transport systems, etc.
The second phase sees the interpretation of these signs through images (photographs, drawings, sketches, and iconic representations) and finally, the third phase, proposes the recomposition in expressions of visual communication such as videos, posters, graphic elaborations..what ever you like. The participants, max 40 people, will work individually or in small groups and will be followed by professors of Unige. All the digital elaborations can be made with a smartphone. No pc required!
